At TrueLight, we develop advanced AI-powered vision systems that solve complex inspection and automation challenges in manufacturing environments. Our work sits at the intersection of machine learning, computer vision, synthetic data, and industrial automation. We build intelligent inspection and guidance systems that operate in real-world production settings.
We are looking for an AI Vision Developer who is excited to build and deploy cutting-edge AI models that power real industrial systems
Job Type: Full-Time
Location: London, ON
Wage: $34/hr. - $41/hr.
About the Role
As an AI Vision Developer at TrueLight, you will design and deploy advanced computer vision models that power real-world industrial inspection and automation systems. This role sits at the intersection of deep learning, synthetic data generation, and production automation. You will develop and optimize models for tasks such as defect detection, segmentation, and classification; while ensuring they meet the accuracy, speed, and reliability standards required in manufacturing environments.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate AI models into robotic cells, inspection systems, and automation platforms. A key part of your work will involve leveraging synthetic data pipelines and 3D simulation tools to overcome data scarcity and accelerate model development. From lab-based experimentation through production deployment, your contributions will directly impact how intelligent vision systems perform in demanding industrial settings.
This description reflects management’s assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned. TrueLight welcomes applications from people with disabilities. Accommodations are available on request for candidates taking part in all aspects of the selection process.
Your interest in this opportunity is appreciated. Applicants must be eligible to work in Canada. Only those applicants selected for an interview will be contacted.
You are a technically strong and curious AI developer with a passion for applying machine learning to real-world industrial challenges. You hold a degree in Engineering, AI, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, and bring a solid foundation in machine learning and deep learning as applied to computer vision. You have hands-on experience training and evaluating image-based models for tasks such as defect detection, segmentation, and object classification, and you are comfortable working with frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow, along with tools like OpenCV. Familiarity with modern vision architectures (e.g., YOLO) and image processing techniques is part of your toolkit.
You understand that production-ready AI requires more than accuracy, it demands robustness, scalability, and repeatability. You are comfortable experimenting in lab environments, iterating through model improvements, and validating performance under real-world constraints. Experience with synthetic data generation or 3D simulation tools (such as Unity, Unreal Engine, or Blender) to expand training datasets is a strong part of your profile, and you appreciate the role that lighting, cameras, and data collection play in system performance.
You bring a creative and analytical mindset to complex, open-ended problems. You are self-motivated, adaptable, and energized by working in fast-paced R&D environments where priorities evolve and experimentation is encouraged. You collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and are comfortable occasionally visiting customer sites when required. Most importantly, you are driven by building AI systems that move beyond controlled datasets and deliver reliable performance in live manufacturing environments.
