What you’ll be doing
- Lead & support automation projects during planning, execution, and commissioning phases.
- Manage project activities to ensure goals are met on time and within budget.
- Work with diverse stakeholders such as operations, maintenance, procurement, contractors, engineering firms, and regulatory agencies.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, including panels, drives, PLCs, HMIs, and automated controls.
- Safeguard and maintain electrical control engineering documentation, PLC/HMI software backups, and drive parameters.
- Manage and update engineering software on controls and drives.
- Prepare and present project reports for management and stakeholders.
- Oversee technical content for procedures and control programming during OEM training.
- Maintain and optimize plant automation systems, including ASRS, conveyor control, and industrial robotics.
- Design and update electrical schematics in AutoCAD for equipment modifications.
- Provide technical training & support for plant maintenance teams.
- Solve real-world technical challenges from single machines to full production lines and greenfield facilities.
What we’re looking for
- Proven track record of delivering automation projects on time and on budget.
- 1–2 years’ experience in automation engineering or project management in manufacturing.
- Degree/diploma in Electrical/Controls Engineering, Industrial Automation, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Hands-on experience with PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron), SCADA/HMI, robotics, drives, automated conveyors, and industrial networks.
- Ability to read and program PLC code, configure drives, and interpret electrical/pneumatic drawings.
- Proactive problem solver with a high sense of ownership.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and project management tools (MS Suite).
- Willingness to travel and work independently on-site.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of industrial networking protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Profinet).
- Experience in the corrugated or packaging industry.
