Wood is recruiting an Intermediate Instrument and Controls Engineer for our Operations business, located in our office in Fredericton, New Brunswick.

The Role
Within this role you will be focusing on supporting our reginal clients to deliver various industrial projects in the Mining, Oil and Gas, Electrical Generation and Electrical Utilities sectors. This is a full-time position with a flexible working arrangement. Reporting to the Fredericton Electrical Lead, and working alongside other team members locally and across the country, you will have the opportunity to provide Instrument & Controls (I&C) design and technical support for a wide variety of projects.

ResponsibilitiesTypical responsibilities:
- Complete design and drafting for I&C packages including, but not limited to, cable tray layouts, equipment layouts, instrument lists, I/O list, loop diagrams, logic SAMA drawings
- Check layouts, review overall presentation, and maintain quality control of all designs and packages presented
- Co-ordination of drawing packages for issue and prepare issue folders for electronic files
- Review project documents for scope, presentation and technical accuracy
- Establish good working relationships and communicate with area leads, department managers, clients and other engineering disciplines to coordinate, ensuring the compatibility of design
- Attend site visits to collect data as required for projects

Expected:
- Graduate of an Electrical Engineering program with relevant experience in electrical (instrumentation and controls) design
- Minimum 4 years' experience in I&C design for mining, oil & gas, electrical generation or similar industrial industries
- I&C design in AutoCAD including P&IDs, instrument loop diagrams, I/O lists, instrument list, bill of material (BOM) logic SAMA drawings, instrument specification sheets (including valves and various instruments); raceway layouts, and cable schedules
- Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and how to apply it in designs
- Everyday use of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Knowledge of utility protection and control systems using SEL relays
- Familiarity with Navisworks and Bluebeam is a plus
- Team player, but also able to work independently and take responsibility
- Able to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks in a highly scheduled environment
- Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required
