Journeyman Industrial Electrician - Fly in/Fly out

 

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician with expertise in construction projects and the oil and gas sector. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems in industrial environments, ensuring compliance with safety standards and project deadlines. What you will be Doing:

  • Electrical Installation: Install, wire, and test electrical systems and components, including motors, control panels, switchgear, and instrumentation for oil and gas facilities.
  • Project Execution: Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure on-time, high-quality completion of construction projects.
  • System Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues with electrical equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal functionality.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all safety standards, codes, and regulations relevant to the oil and gas industry.
  • Upgrades and Maintenance: Perform upgrades to existing systems and routine maintenance to ensure the reliability of critical infrastructure.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including wiring diagrams, schematics, and project updates.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other trades, contractors, and site supervisors to ensure smooth project progression.


Your Skills and Qualifications:

Required:

  • Journeyman Electrician certification or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 experience in industrial electrical work within the oil and gas sector.
  • Previous involvement in construction-focused projects for oil and gas facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints and schematics.
  • Experience with control systems, instrumentation, and voltages from 24vdc to 600 vac.
  • Troubleshooting experience within operating facilities.
  • Ability to work in challenging environments, including outdoor and remote locations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Self starter who can work with minimal supervision, and mentor other workers.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to job sites as needed.

Preferred:

  • Experience with PLCs, VFDs, and other automation technologies.
  • Commissioning and calibration experience in oil and gas facilities.
  • Experience with 4160 vac cables and stress cone installation.
  • Certifications in confined space entry, H2S awareness, or other industry-relevant safety programs.
