Houston, TX (HO) - Support functions - LI CorporateAir Liquide Large Industries provides our customers with industrial gas and energy solutions that are vital to their own industrial production. We own and operate over 2,000 miles of industrial gas pipelines in the U.S. supplying mainly oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and syngas in large quantities from multiple production sources to major customers in the chemicals, petrochemicals, refining and steel industries. Our pipeline operations and industrial gas production facilities are closely monitored 24/7 within our leading-edge operations control center located in Houston, Texas. Our operations control group monitors over 89,000 data points and assists with product supply and coordination. We are constantly optimizing our supply network to provide high reliability and energy efficiencies allowing Air Liquide to adjust supply needs more quickly and effectively enabling growth to our customers.
Strategic Direction & Program Management: Define, develop, and execute the strategy for ensuring continuous data continuity and consistency between industrial systems and central business platforms. Oversee the entire OT data continuity program, aligning it with organizational business objectives and operational technology roadmaps.
Governance and Policy Establishment: Establish and enforce robust governance frameworks, policies, and procedures for data acquisition, transfer, and validation from all OT systems. Ensure that data continuity practices are compliant with industry standards and internal security and operational policies.
Incident and Crisis Management: Direct and manage the organization's response to all OT data continuity incidents impacting centralized industrial data platforms. This includes leading crisis-level transversal issue resolution, overseeing root cause analysis, and implementing long-term solutions to prevent recurrence and minimize operational impact.
Performance and Quality Assurance: Define, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and service-level agreements (SLAs) related to data availability, latency, and quality. Implement a continuous improvement program to enhance system reliability and meet or exceed all established metrics.
Cross-Functional Leadership and Collaboration: Serve as the primary senior liaison between OT field operations, central IT departments, and business units. Drive a culture of proactive collaboration to address data flow challenges, secure necessary resources, and ensure all stakeholders are aligned on priorities and solutions.
Risk and Vulnerability Management: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to data loss and communication failures within the OT environment. Develop and champion strategic initiatives to strengthen data resilience and reduce organizational exposure to operational and financial risk.
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline is generally required. Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related field would be highly desirable. Candidates with 10-15 years of experience in the OT/IT domain with a track record of progressive leadership roles leading a cross-functional team may also be considered.
Proven experience leading and managing a team of 7-10 individual contributors. The ideal candidate will be skilled in delegating tasks, providing performance feedback, and fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Strong understanding of operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT) is essential. This includes familiarity with industrial control systems (ICS), SCADA, PLCs, and common industrial protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC UA), as well as foundational IT networking concepts.
Excellent communication skills are required to effectively coordinate with diverse stakeholders, including technical IT staff, on-site plant and pipeline operators, and business leaders. The role demands the ability to translate technical problems into business impacts and negotiate solutions.
A deep understanding of data continuity principles and the ability to maintain organizational KPIs on data availability is a core requirement. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the continuous flow of data from OT systems to central repositories.
The ability to prioritize data loss and system issues based on their organizational impact and business risk is crucial. The candidate must be able to independently assess the severity of problems and allocate team resources accordingly to maintain operational efficiency.
