Job Description

The Financial Analyst – Technical Accounting is an important part of the team that serves as our experts in U.S. GAAP accounting and reporting and helps solve global accounting issues. The Financial Analyst has a high level of visibility to finance leadership and works with peers and senior leadership in headquarters, business, and regional finance organizations and with internal and external auditors. The Financial Analyst reports directly to the Technical Accounting Manager and works with other members of the Global Finance Organization in the areas of technical accounting, internal control, and financial reporting matters.

Your Responsibilities:

Technical Accounting and Reporting

  • Assist Technical Accounting Manager in preparation and analysis of technical accounting matters, including workers' compensation and product liability accounting, environmental liability accounting, revenue recognition matters, and lease accounting
  • Prepare portions of quarterly (Form 10-Q) and annual (Form 10-K) reports filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission
  • Research complex accounting issues, including assisting with ad-hoc technical accounting and policy questions from different global finance personnel, and prepare technical memos
  • Educate global finance team of our US GAAP pronouncements through formal trainings and other ad-hoc communications
  • Support the global implementation of new US GAAP accounting standards
  • Respond to inquiries from internal and external auditors during the quarterly review and annual audit process

Entity Level Controls

  • Be the main Internal Control contact for the Corporate Controllership team
  • Lead monitoring and compliance activities for our global account reconciliation policy
  • Coordinate quarterly and mid-year "Controllership Reviews" with the regional, business, and functional finance teams
  • Coordinate responses to management's internal quarterly representation letters to ensure that all exceptions are identified and communicated to appropriate levels of executive management
  • Perform quarterly analysis over the consolidated balance sheet and contract liability roll-forward
  • Compile global audit fee reporting for the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors, and monitor compliance with statutory financial reporting requirements for all international locations

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • 3+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience
  • CPA
  • Big 4 public accounting firm experience and exposure to global industrial companies
  • Exposure to U.S. GAAP accounting standards and research and SOX internal controls framework
  • Working knowledge of SAP, Oracle Financial Consolidation and Close, Oracle Enterprise Performance Management Cloud, and Workiva Wdesk
  • Experience managing multiple short-range and long-range tasks
  • Willingness to challenge the status quo to enhance productivity and processes
  • Experience adapting work schedule and communication style to communicate with global personnel of different cultures and time zones
