Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) Purchaser 

Day Shift - 7:30 am -3:30 pm (may change as business needs or schedule requires)

$28.00/hour

The MRO Purchaser position is responsible for planning and executing and procurement and distribution of all maintenance and operating supplies, as well as for sourcing, negotiating, and contracting office and plant services. This position optimizes the use of company assets in the acquisition of assigned materials ensuring quality and continuity of supply while minimizing total cost. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Budget Ownership. The MRO Purchaser understands, tracks, and reports against the budget objectives for their assigned department(s). This role will track and adjust lead times to understand the impact of receipts upon budgets as well as identify and escalate issues proactively to leadership. 
•  Procurement Standards. Maintains adherence to corporate procurement methodologies and agreements. Works with MRO Storeroom Leader, vendor representatives, and additional resources to ensure adherence to standards, escalates issues to site and corporate resources as needed. 
•  Purchasing Support and Training. Trains site resources to properly manage indirect departmental purchases and budgets. Escalates risks associated with budget ownership and process deviations. 
•  Risk Mitigation Proactively monitors and notifies stakeholders of procurement issues effecting the site or network. Develops risk mitigation plans in coordination with stakeholders to prevent unplanned production losses and increased costs. 
•  MRO Data Stewardship. Works closely with the MRO Storeroom Leader and Attendant(s) to ensure that internal and external MRO parts data are aligned. Works with MRO Storeroom Leader and corporate team to capture obsolescence, replacement, and evolution of parts as communicated by the vendors.

Performs additional duties as assigned. Supports operations as needed.

Education and Work Experience

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in Indirect inventory purchasing (MRO preferred) 
• Experience in food or CPG manufacturing environments. 
• In depth working knowledge of purchasing process and practices 
• Experience with purchasing using inventory management or CMMS software (Maintenance Connection preferred) 
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills, including written and verbal
• Experience in an FDA regulated environment where quality, compliance, and safety are core values.
