Job Description

The Senior Accountant is a position reporting to the Accounting Manager on the Global Finance Operations (GFO) & Controllership Team and is responsible for the accounting, internal controls, and financial reporting submissions for North America. You will handle different general accounting transactions including journal entry preparation and account reconciliations for North America. You will also provide support for projects, process improvements, system enhancements and other continuous improvement projects.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Complete assigned financial close tasks including preparation of journal entries and submission to Rockwell Corporate Consolidations for multiple Rockwell entities.
  • Complete assigned account reconciliations in compliance with Corporate policies.
  • Investigate and resolve any reconciliations identified per internal policies and procedures.
  • Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures.
  • Document processes and assist with ongoing updates to existing policies and procedures.
  • Provide support related to internal audit and external audit inquiries.
  • Identify opportunities for increased productivity and automation of tasks.
  • Provide support to other internal Rockwell Automation Finance teams.
  • Other Ad-Hoc reporting and compliance requests.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 3+ years experience in corporate or business accounting
  • CPA certification or eligible for CPA exam.
  • Understanding of US GAAP, accounting transactions, balance sheet and income statement preparation, revenue recognition, account reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and journal entries.
  • Experience with SAP and the Oracle EPM suite including Financial Consolidation and Close, Account Reconciliations, and Journal entries are recommended, but not required.
  • Collaborate with peers and internal customers to resolve issues and accomplish tasks.
